Composer Morgan Denney enjoys exploring imaginative textures, psychological themes, and playful manipulation of predictability and humor within her music. She is experimental and a passionate collaborator.
Morgan’s compositions and arrangements have been performed globally in multiple facets including live concerts, ballet, aerial dance, musical theater, and in performance venues such as the Midwest Clinic. In addition to self-publishing, Morgan’s work is published through Alfred Music and The FJH Music Company and can be found on the JW Pepper Editors’ Choice List as well as the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List. She contributed music for Mel Bay Publications’ Mastering the Violin: a Comprehensive Study for the Adult Learner and has most recently received commissions from Fort Collins Symphony and the Colorado Health & Wellness Orchestra.
Morgan holds a Bachelor’s degree in music composition with honors from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a Master’s degree in music composition from the University of Miami. Her primary mentors have included Dorothy Hindman, Daniel Kellogg, Lansing McLoskey, and Carter Pann.
Based in South Florida, Morgan is also a Production Editor for Alfred Music, the Choral and Strings Editor for TUX People’s Music, and a freelance violinist. She holds three Paul Revere awards for her extensive work as an engraver and editor with several different music publishers.
